Swine Flu—H1N1 Virus—Outbreak Information (Part 1)

Although swine flu, H1N1 virus, outbreak information is scarce, should I be concerned? The purpose of this article and the follow up to it is not to alarm you, rather, the purpose is to inform you and let you begin to prepare now.

Although little outbreak information on swine flu, H1N1 virus, is seen, you should be concerned enough for your family to begin preparing for this next flu season. On August 25, 2009 NBC morning news reported some interesting statistics from an article in Time Magazine.

The report said that as many as one-half of Americans could be infected by the H1N1 virus. If this were to occur, our hospitals—short staffed as they are—would be overwhelmed. As many as 30,000 – 60,000 deaths could occur as a result of the H1N1 virus, and over 50% of these deaths among young adults and pregnant women.

The H1N1 virus needs to get your attention so you can begin planning for your family, today. The target age group is 2 to 49 years of age. The young adults seem to be the hardest hit of all age groups.

If you’re pregnant, you are especially vulnerable to attack by this flu virus. For some reason pregnant women contract the flu more readily, and they have the most trouble overcoming it.

You might be wondering, “Can I avoid catching the H1N1 virus?”

It is possible! Some people simply have built in immunity to the flu and cold viruses. It is rare if they ever catch a cold or have the flu. Perhaps one reason for their never getting sick is they have a great immune system. If you aren’t one of those, then here’s what you may need to consider. Begin to build your immune system, now. Always consult your physician before you begin taking any kind of product—natural or not.

One of the best immune system boosters is elderberry concentrate. You can buy the elderberry concentrate at most local health food stores, or you can find it online. Be sure you get an all natural product without chemical additives.

Usually the recommended dosage is ½ teaspoons twice a day. You can take that amount by mixing it a few drops at a time in your drinks or water. Mix it with your tea or whatever drink you use with meals. Follow the directions for taking elderberry concentrate from the label on your package.

So as we look at the outbreak information on the H1N1—swine flu virus, you can see that you do need to begin to prepare yourself and/or your family for the possibilities this flu season brings. It could be that you may never contract it, but what if you might? Don’t you think it’s worth the time to be prepared?

Swine Flu Disease

December 26th, 2008

swine flu disease

What do you think of the Swine flu conspiracy?

Can you really believe there’s a swine flu plot that could cause the emergency to to get really bad and the death population amount to go up?

We all know what the swine flu epidemic means that the bug is spreading at scary speed across many places can now verify cases of swine flu, and the statistics are still on the rise.

As you may have found out, throughout all this chaos, a lot of people now fret that the increased proportion of folks worrying about how is swine flu transmitted and swine flu symptoms is almost as threatening as having the pathogen itself.

There’s terror that led to by the morning news as folks try and sort the truth from made up. You are constantly being inundated with information about being prepared for the virus.

And then there is the worry among well-meaning fogeys who need to get their children immunized only to find there’s no injection which has won the approval of the US presidency.

On the flip side, there are a few people that worried for the vaccination all together and have not taken the necessary swine flu cares to guard their children.

Here’s the deal it is time for a small amount of common sense varied with care. It’s real that an oz Of protection is worth every penny of cure.

The CDC Centers for Illness Control and avoidance are preaching exceptional hygiene, thorough washing your hands, taking multivitamin tablets and resting at home when you’re feeling ill as the best paths to make it though the condition without a scratch.

Make no error about it ; these straightforward secrets just will not be sufficient for some folk. That is why swine flu conspiracy theories are alive and kicking today.

Many people would bet their last dollar that there was some deeper cause for a virus of this nature to spread at this speed throughout the earth.

How would you like to know the pathogen of this nature to find out what other folks have to say about the swine flu disease?

1. The virus has been manufactured by one to say about the US. It was released by accident and now the government is working to cover it up.

2.It’s a naturally mutated pathogen due to hog factory farms in Mexico.

3. Terrorism plain and straightforward or an international bio-terrorism plot.

4. The swine flu virus is especially made as a technique for the rich to wipe out the poor.

5. Global warming released this pathogen onto the earth.

Think I am exaggerating? Poke around a little and I am sure you will find even more outrageous swine flu conspiracy theory. But, don’t fall victim of this. Take the essential cares listed by the CDC and take it safe.

Swine Flu Current Numbers

November 5th, 2008

swine flu current numbers

Current statistics swine flu …..?

I need of a website containing current statistics swine flu this month as well as statistics for a month or so. i need websites that have the statistics for the entire nation, and certain states. Also, please make sure its a reliable site with some number of legitimate and not simply invented. I have looked on the website of the CDC and im having trouble understanding his actions and everything. =]

Each week CDC analyzes information on the disease activity of influenza in the United States and publishes the results of key indicators of influenza in a report called FluView .* During the week of 8-14 November 2009, influenza activity decreased in all key indicators, but overall remained very high for this time of year. Below is a summary overall nationally, visits to physicians for influenza-like illness remain high. * Influenza hospitalization rates are beginning to decline, but remain higher than expected for this time of year. Hospitalization rates remain higher in the younger population with higher rate of hospitalization in children 0-4 years old. * The proportion of deaths attributed to pneumonia and influenza (P & I) based on the 122 cities reported decreased slightly, but is still above what is expected for this time of year and remained elevated for seven weeks. In addition, 21 pediatric deaths associated with influenza were reported This week: 15 of these deaths were associated with laboratory confirmation of H1N1 in 2009: 6 to influenza A virus, but is not divided into subtypes. Since April 2009, CDC has received 171 reports of laboratory confirmed H1N1 in 2009 pediatric deaths, a death of influenza B, and 28 other pediatric deaths laboratory confirmed as influenza, but subtype of influenza virus was not determined. (Laboratory-confirmed deaths are thought to represent an underestimate of the actual number. CDC has provided estimates the number of cases of H1N1 2009 and hospitalizations and deaths related. * Forty-three states are reporting widespread influenza activity at this time, a decline three states last week. They are: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Carolina, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico New York, Northern Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia and Wisconsin. * Almost all influenza viruses remain now identified 2009 H1N1 influenza virus A. These viruses remain similar to the virus chosen for the vaccine against H1N1, 2009, and remain susceptible to antiviral drugs oseltamivir and zanamivir with rare exception. * All data are preliminary and may change as more reports are received.

POLL__Do you think the SWINE FLU is population control?

if you look on the google map it all looks so random. its just something i was thinking about i would love your answeres!

You are like me, a theorist. I agree this and many other diseases are part of population control. Face it we are populating at an alarming rate, overpopulation is serious and seems to be coming fast. So i think its very possible. But i also realize its spreading and many people just havent confirmed it yet.

H1n1 Flu Us Map

July 22nd, 2008

h1n1 flu us map

Track Online Learning Quality at H1N1 Period

H1n1 flu is sweeping across our campus, are you ready to protect your student interests under the name of a conscientious teacher?

H1N1 flu has frightened us for months. According to the statistical data from IDPH, there have been 272 people at age of 5~24 being confirmed to get hospitalized and 7 of them dead from the disease as of October 30, 2009, accounting for 37.5 percent of all patients in the country. The health and life of youth, especially including students of all ages, are now threatened.

More and more pupils are forced to leave school for isolation therapy, there’re huge numbers of schools and colleges suspending classes due to the wild spread of H1N1 flu, indicating the readjustment of teachers’ curriculum. In view of this situation, now many schools are attempting the online distance learning programs to give lessons to students. However, the most difficult tackle for teachers and educators is how to guarantee the quality of such online education. Have you ever think of a practical way to ensure the actual result of their study?

Thanks to the internet, now we have certain programs and tools to make it. With quiz maker software, teachers can make online test and get feedback statistics from the exam result so as to sum up the study situation of students.

Advantages of using quiz maker software as an essential educational assistant:

  • The online education pattern overcomes the several difficulties caused by long distance in region, indicating that no matter wherever students are or for whatever reason they cannot attend your class. All tests can go through smooth and easy by distance learning.
  • Teacher can gather plenty of information about study progress of students by online test tracking system, including the strong or weak point students have mastered or be poor at, the common issues in certain section of textbook and the extra additional knowledge they eager to know.
  • Teachers can have the situation of student’s learning well in hand. It’s very helpful for them to make the next-step academic teaching plan, also they can easily find out the weakness of every one in class and help students to make progress.
  • Quiz creating software provides more new types of question in online test: sequence, click map and matching questions have been introduced into E-learning quizzes. The short essay feature even allows teacher to create learning by doing course which combines textbook and test in one quiz together.
  • Teacher can publish their tests in sorts of format on demand. Flash-based, SCORM or AICC compliant package, or burn it to auto-play CD/EXE for off-line distribution and backup resources.

Now the assessment tools make the distance nothing to worry about. It turns to be a comprehensive E-learning solution rather than a simple test maker. H1n1 flu might take student apart from school, but the assessment tools offer a more encouraging and creative way to share knowledge worldwide. As an aggressive teacher with desire for continuous improvement, the stuff stops you is not that horrible disease but the thought of teaching in new pattern.

Swine Flu Paper Presentation

April 30th, 2008

Basic Things You Need to Know about the Swine Flu Outbreak

The Swine Flu outbreak these days alarm the public because of its rapid spread, first in Mexico, then in the US and some other nearby countries. Now it continues to spread even to Middle East and Asia-Pacific countries. Swine flue has been affecting human beings before but it has never been so disturbing as the present outbreak.

In the midst of this epidemic, people should be aware of some basic details to prevent acquiring the said fast-killing flu.

What is Swine Flu?

From its name, swine influenza is a viral disease trasmitted among pigs. This is a respiratory disease that circulates within pig populations, but certain outbreaks occur on cold season, on winter and fall, just like how ordinary flu affects human beings.

How is it transmitted to people?

Swine flu infects human beings and over two thousand cases of affected individuals confirm that swine flu is indeed something to be taken seriously. Normally, swine flu is not transmitted to humans. But within the bodies of swines, a process called the antigenic shift make swine flu a very contagious disease not only among pigs but also among us, people.

Pigs are not only  carriers of ordinary swine flu viruses, they are also carriers of other animals’ viruses- such as of birds and of human beings. This ordinary human flu can turn into a human-infecting swine flu once combined with other flu viruses. As different types of viruses are being carried by pigs, viruses may reassort and swap genes with each other to develop a new strain of flu virus. This evolved virus is now being responsible for the present swine flu epidemic.

What are the symptoms and effects of swine flu?

Swine flue affects people people like the ordinary flu such as sore throat, cough, nasal congestion, fever, headache, chills body aches, and fatigue. Some patients also reported diarrhea and vomiting as symptoms.

Although swine flu is curable with some drugs, about 150 deaths that were caused by swine flu have been reported.

What should we do?

To prevent swine flu, peolple should take personal health precautions such as cleaning one’s hands and other hygenic practices. Since swine flu appears to be just like an ordinary flu, it would be wise for people, whether they think they have swine flu or not, to cough and sneeze on tissue papers and properly dispose them on trash cans. People should also refrain from touching their lips, eyes and nose unless their hands are really clean.

Swine flu is not transmitted by eating pork since swine flue viruses are killed in meat-cooking tempearture. However, one should still be careful when eating or drinking. It would be safe to make sure that one’s food are safe from germs.

There are antiviral drugs against swine flu such as Tamiflu (oseltamivir) or Relenza (zanamivir). These can be taken for both prevention and cure of swine flu.

With a proper way of facing this present health threat, people will prevent being infected by this epidemic.

Flu Injection Sites

April 4th, 2008

flu injection sites

PLEASE READ!!! 15 month old had flu shot now he is running a high fever??

My 15 month old son and myself both got our flu shots on Thursday. Saturday my son got a temperature of 103…Gave him tylenol but have been battling the temperature ever since. It’s now Monday early morning (1am) and his temperature is 102. I’ve called the ER and talked to a triage nurse 4 different times. They keep telling me I don’t have to bring him in. What am I supposed to do? He’s miserable and I’m worried!!!

I got sick on Saturday morning. I was throwing up and felt really horrible. My injection site is bruised and had a big red hard bump on it (my sons site looks fine). The red bump has almost gone away but again I called the ER and they told me not to come in.

The nurses tell me it’s a “coincedence” and not because of the flu shot!!

It is not a coincidence. It is more than likely the flu shot. Take him to the doctor, and go for yourself. The flu shot is STUPID… Notice how you have to get one every year? It is because the virus mutates and is different every year. I have always refused flu shots for my kids, I have 3. My oldest is 5 and has been in preschool for 2 years (due to when his b-day falls) and he has never had anything. The health department in my area will not give flu shots to anyone here unless they have lowered immune system (like the elderly or people with auto-immune diseases). We have survived alot worse than the flu, for example, scarlet fever (from experience as a kid) is much wore than the flu, why don’t they immunize against it?
