Opportunity Analysis Of H1N1 (Swine Flu) Vaccination Market—-Aarkstore Enterprise

REPORT DESCRIPTION

H1N1 Influenza A (2009) is the first pandemic influenza of 21st century affecting more than more than four lac people in more than 180 countries across the globe in 2009. The flu broke in Mexico in the month of March and then affected U.S. and after that it spread across the globe. H1N1 (2009) influenza have a mutation of pig, bird and humans which has made it more dangerous and fatal compared to previous occurrence of H1N1 (1918).

The pandemic outbreak of the influenza opened the gates for the drugs such as Tamiflu in the initial phase for the curing of the disease but the following phase will see a shift from curing to prevention. Thus, arise the requirement for the vaccine for the treatment of H1N1. H1N1 vaccine market is the forecast for the upcoming vaccines for the prevention of the disease among the unaffected population. The vaccines market is classified for the intramuscular vaccines and intranasal vaccines. Intramuscular will cater 80-85% of market revenues and the remaining will be tapped by the intranasal vaccines. The initial lot of vaccines will be of egg based and cell based manufacturing. The market forecast is from late 2009 as the first lot of doses are expected to be rolled out in the first week of October 2009.

The first movers of the in the vaccines market are Glaxo Smith Kline (GSK), Novartis, CSL, Medimmune, Baxter, Sinovec and Sanofi Pastuer. Medimmune is the only producer of the intranasal vaccine whereas other companies are expected to come out with intramuscular vaccines. The companies have got approvals for their first lots from the governments of the various countries such as U.S., U.K., France, China, Denmark and Australia. The involvement of government bodies, increased awareness about prevention and pandemic situation of the influenza is driving the market for the vaccines.

Due to intensive ongoing research and technology introduction, the market players are compelled to understand the market dynamics, innovations, pricing, products, marketing and regulatory framework of the market.

The global H1N1 Influenza vaccine market is estimated to be of 676 million in 2009 with first lot of doses being commercialized on 30th September’ 2009. The market will see a high CAGR for the next two years i.e. the market is expected to be at $7.03 billion in 2011 with a CAGR of 222.4% from 2009 to 2011. However, the very high CAGR will settle down by 2012 to 30% for the period of 2009 to 2012. The reason for the sudden settle down of the growth is that it is expected that most of the world population will be immunized by the end of 2011.

Swine Flu Mexico Travel Advisory

August 1st, 2008

swine flu mexico travel advisory

Travel Advisory Update On The Flu In Mexico

After all the massive publicity of the Swine Flu, and the closing of all businesses and schools in Mexico, finally things are looking up. Now that more information is present for analysis, other countries as well as United States are realizing how the cases of “Swine Flu” were not, and I repeat, WERE NOT linked with travel to Mexico.

All businesses are open in Puerto Vallarta and tourists are taking advantage and are enjoying at this beautiful haven in Mexico. The Travel Warning that was launched by Centers For Disease Control (CDC) in opposition to “non-essential travel” into Mexico, which has been in effect since 27th April 2009 has finally been lifted and now only a “Travel Health Precaution” is there for travel to Mexico. Canada had previously launched a Travel Advisory for Mexico which was officially lifted on 18th May. This “non-essential travel” warning was put on Mexico due to the excessive media hype that was created about the Flu.

Press conferences were also held where the Canadian Chief Public Health Officer Dr. David Butler-Jones stressed on the fact that the “outbreak in Mexico” now seems to be settling down. He also explained that it did not seem logical to put a travel warning to a country where the spread of the virus was similar to that of Canada; which is minimal.

Since the lifting of this travel advisory, the PHAC will cease to provide notices of health alert to the air travelers that are leaving for Mexico. Also, quarantine officers which were previously placed on almost every direct flight coming to Canada from Mexico, will be removed. Nonetheless, the “Canadian Border Services Agency” will continue keeping a check on all of the air passengers who show signs of being under the influence of the swine flu.

Majority of the Canadian Air Carriers have not formally broadcasted the outcome of the travel ban which was placed on Mexico. However, WestJet has announced that it will continue its “no flight policy” to Mexico till June 20th. But what is great is that Air Canada will definitely make a few trips to Puerto Vallarta in May. So I don’t think you should be waiting any longer, come on down, because here at Puerto Vallarta everything is safe and healthy.

Get more information on Puerto Vallarta rentals, contact Pvrpv dot com at the following numbers.  Their Mexican office number is 322.222.0638.  In case you are calling from the USA or Canada, call on their local Vonage number 206.388.3703. Flu Epidemic Of 1918

June 22nd, 2008

flu epidemic of 1918

What is Spanish influenza?

I already searched it on google but all I keep getting is information about the epidemic in 1918, which is great since that is what I’m studying, but I really need an actual definition of Spanish flu. Can anyone give me one?
Seriously? It’s just normal flu?
Seriously? It’s just normal flu?

Spanish Flu was the name given to the 1918 influenza pandemic that killed over 40 million people worldwide. It was (incorrectly) believed at the time that the illness had originated in Spain - hence the name. The virus itself was of avian influenza origin and this is why we are so worried about the present H5N1 bird flu that is circulating in severval countries. Many think that another pandemic will occur once (and if) this virus begins to transmit between humans like normal flu.

So the Spanish flu was NOT normal flu.

Hope this helps

1918 Flu Epidemic Symptoms

April 29th, 2008

1918 flu epidemic symptoms

swine flu, a repeat of the past?

could it be a terror attack on the whole world, or could it be a repeat of the 1918 epidemic?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1918_flu_pandemic

it seems that the symptoms are similar, but then there was a further ’swine flu’ investigation in 1976, in new jersey, where they prepared for the virus with vacinne that seemed to to kill more people than help them. what do we make out of it, now that they predict a second ‘wave’?

It’s probably going to be like SARS and the Avian Flu. It’s around the world but it’s deaths are chiefly centric to where it started: Mexico. I wouldn’t be too afraid of the Swine Flu, but I’d recommend you get some food and medical supplies in case it comes knocking at your front door.

H5n1 Flu Symptoms

November 18th, 2007

h5n1 flu symptoms

Influenza A (H1N1) now crosses from humans to pigs so what’s next?

It now appears that Influenza A (H1N1) can now be passed from humans to pigs - as apparently has happened in Canada. There are a few reports around that point to Bird Flu (H5N1) infecting pig populations without causing the pigs to exhibit any obvious symptoms.

I’m wondering two things here: 1. Has influenza passed from Humans to Pigs easily in the past and 2. What are the chances of the new influenza A (H1N1) and bird flu (H5N1) combining in a pig and creating something new?

I think this virus is changing so quickly there are a lot of unanswered questions. We are yet to see the full impact.

Spanish Flu Epidemic

November 15th, 2007

spanish flu epidemic

Swine flu is all over the world

Some strains of swine flu, including the one that has recently emerged in Mexico, is known to belong to the same subtype H1N1 as the Spanish flu. But the classical swine flu virus (H1N1 subtype influenza virus type A) was not isolated from a pig until 1930, so the connection between Spanish flu and swine flu has not been clear.

One of the reasons why the two strains of virus were strongly connected was because they had drastically different impacts.

The Spanish flu, first identified in Spain in May 1918, was lethal, killing at least 21 million people worldwide. Also was known to induce a lethal infection in a number of other animals, including ferrets, mice and monkeys, a primate found in Europe and Asia. It also caused the death of many in the U.S..

The swine flu first appeared in 1918, however, did not have the same impact in pigs, causing only respiratory mild illness, leaving some to suggest that they were not closely related.

On 29 April, the director of the World Health Organization, Margaret Chan, MD, said: "Based on the evaluation of all available information, and after several consultations with experts, I have decided to raise the current level of alert influenza pandemic phase 4 to phase 5. "Phase 5 would mean that we have reached a pandemic level. WHO is considering raising the alert to Phase 6. Today, there is no vaccine to prevent this specific strain, and will have 13 weeks from the point of the discovery of a swine flu developed countries.

New cases in Mexico are in decline and appear to be less severe. In the United States has identified 226 cases in 30 states and 30 people have been hospitalized. In addition, many schools have been closed to prevent the spread of influenza. Canada has reported 70 cases.

Response actions are aggressive, but may vary between states and communities depending on local circumstances. Communities, businesses, places of worship, schools and all people can take steps to curb the spread of this outbreak. People who are sick are urged to go to work or school and to avoid contact with others, except to seek medical attention. This action can prevent the spread of new diseases

H1n1 Flu Peak

April 13th, 2007

h1n1 flu peak

I have Swine Flu, but..?

Hi all. I was confirmed H1N1 positive(or have contracted Swine Flu) yesterday, with a peak of 39.7 degrees from my fever yesterday.

But today i’m feeling fine again and my temp ranges normally from 36-37 degrees celsius, so i want to ask you guys out there,

1.) How can i know i’m not h1n1 positive anymore or contagious to my family, because my whole family is wearing their masks so as not to contract my virus, and cleaning everything I’ve touched. These are very taxing to my family and I’m sad about it =(

Will appreciate any form of advice from anyone, esp those from the medical profession! thanks!

The best knowledge now tells us that you are contagious from one day before you begin showing symptoms until 7 days after the last day you show symptoms. If you were confirmed as having it yesterday, but today you feel fine, have no fever or any other symptoms, you need to wait seven days before going around anyone if you want to avoid contaminating them. But the truth is, if you didn’t start these precautions you mention at least one day before you started feeling ill, they’ve already been exposed and it doesn’t really matter.
