Ear Congestion Flu

How to clear up build up and congestion in the ears.?
I have been sick for the past couple of days. I had the flu and now I am getting over it. I have a light cough but tons of congestion still and this is the first time that my ears have been all clogged up like this. It feels like they need to pop but when I try to yawn nothing happens. Are there any at home remedies you guys know of?
Plug your nose and blow (sometimes plugs more).
Try an over the counter decongestant.
Also, a hot shower.
Physical activity gets your sinuses running(or spicy food) which can sometimes unplug ears.
They told us to stay out of the sun…
