Calgary Fluoride Water
Can I add flouride tap water to my aquarium?
I hear you are suppose to cycle 15%-30% of your aquariums water, but can I add tap water? The water in my city (calgary) has fluoride in it. Will this poison the fish? Can I get drops, or do I just let the water sit for a few days before I put it in the tank?
The amount of flouride thats added to water is so small it will have no effect on the fish.
In many parts of the world the natural water contains trace amounts of flouride that leaches from the ground naturally. If your local water doesn’t contain any it is often added because it’s a vital trace element for human health.
Just use the normal water conditioner in case there is free chlorine residue in the water, that IS dangerous to your fish.
