The Secret 2 Fat Loss: 4 Hidden Secrets To Healthy and Quick Weight Loss

It happens to everyone. At one point or another, those of us working hard to lose weight end up searching for an easy miracle magic pill, something that gets us the weight loss results we want and quickly. Everyone has their own reasons but we all know that everyone has looked before or will look for the magic pill, the secret to fat loss.

Truth be told, pills of all types are not healthy. They are not normal or natural and they will NOT help you lose weight quickly and, least of all, in a healthy way. Now, if your goal is just to drop weight for a short period of time, and you would not care if the weight just automatically came back, then go ahead and try those magic pills you see on TV infomercials.

If you are serious about losing weight and body fat and keeping it off, then there are other ways to reach your goals quickly and, above all else, with your health in mind. Dieting and exercise. Those are the keys to truly successful weight loss. A few tips below! (But always check with your physician before starting any diet or exercise routine.)

Hydration aka Water and other liquids

One of the absolute best things in life is water. Why do I say that?

1. Water fills you up. After you drink a glass of water, you tend to feel less hungry, which helps if you need a bit of a push to control your appetite and cravings.

2. Water cleans your system. The toxins in your body get flushed out when you drink more water.

3. Water keeps you going. You should always have a bottle of water with you during your exercise routines. Make sure to keep yourself well hydrated during and after your workout because you lose a good amount of water through sweating. Money saving tip: buy a water filtration system, ie: Brita. Great tasting water at a fraction of the bottled water price.

What you do NOT want to drink during your workouts: “sports” or “energy” drinks. They are full of sugar, which makes you even more dehydrated (which makes you drink more of their product, see the cycle?).

Nutrition aka Healthy, Whole Food

The first step to establishing a healthy diet full of whole foods is by cutting out processed foods, those are basically anything that comes in a box and has ingredients that you either cannot pronounce or have no idea what it is. Most, if not all, processed foods have little nutritional value and probably none in comparison to whole foods. The process of creating these foods destroys nutrients that would be automatically found in the ingredients and don’t forget that processed foods have tons of additives, usually salt to increase the life span of the food, not you.

Once you cut out processed foods, add plenty of fruits and vegetables to a protein-rich diet. Always use fresh foods in all your meals, even during cooking, as in fresh tomatoes for tomato sauce, instead of canned. Despite what everyone says, there IS a difference in taste, and definitely a difference in nutrition.

Determination aka Don’t Cheat, Don’t Stop Eating

You are probably thinking, “Look, I WANT to lose weight. Why would you be telling me to keep eating? That’s how I got here in the first place! Because I couldn’t stop eating!” It does sound crazy a bit, doesn’t it?

No, it isn’t crazy at all. For you to lose weight, you cannot stop eating. Skipping meals will actually cause you gain even more weight. That includes breakfast, which should have lots of fiber and some sugar. Make sure to eat lots of protein (meat) and greens after your exercise routines and less sugar.

So do not skip meals. You can eat more often and you might find that you eat more too. That’s perfectly okay but just make sure that what you are eating is healthy and nutritious.

To Healthy Eating!

So your immediate goal is to lose weight quickly. That’s perfectly fine. The best part of eating well and exercising is that once you lose weight, you’re already well on your way to healthy living and THAT is the true secret to fat loss, maintaining a healthy lifestyle and healthy eating habits.

Ca Fluoroscopy

ca fluoroscopy

X-rays – What you Don’t See & Feel Can Hurt you

There is little doubt that x-ray technology (x-rays, CT scans, fluoroscopy) in medicine has done much good and is an invaluable diagnostic tool. Although I seriously question its usefulness as a therapeutic tool (e.g. cancer radiation therapy), that will not be the focus of this article.

X-rays are high-energy nuclear emissions that have the ability to pass right through tissue and leave an image on a film, called a radiograph (the film itself is not an “x-ray”). Less emission gets through denser tissue like bone, and more goes through soft tissue to darken the film. This results in the contrast, the picture of our insides, seen on the films – light areas are dense tissues, darker areas are less dense.

That little lesson in radiology aside, it’s what the x-ray does as it passes through the body that should be of concern to all. The high-energy x-ray particles can wreak havoc on their journey through tissue. When they hit electrons they confer upon them high levels of unnatural energy. Like a bull in a china shop, these electrons can cause mutations including deletions and translocations of DNA material. The wreckage is often beyond the capability of DNA repair mechanisms. The resulting instability of the chromosome is a precursor to cancer. Cancer is, in effect, the inability of a cell to any longer know its place and behave within its normal constraints. The control mechanism for cell behavior is the genetic material with which x-rays and their misbehaving electron progeny play havoc.

This sounds like free-radical activity, but is different in that it is far more energetic and potentially damaging. The body has mechanisms in place to scavenge and quench free radicals, but x-ray energy is several orders in magnitude beyond those neutralizing capabilities.

X-ray mutational damage can kill a cell or alter it. If the cell is altered, that change stays with it since the genetic material will replicate the error. If more damage to the genetic material occurs, the results are additive.

Remember that. Radiation damage is cumulative. It never goes away, it is just added to until the cell dies or the genetic aberration results in cancer and resultant organism death.

There is NO safe level of radiation. It is a risk versus benefit game as is all of medicine.

There are those within the medical community who argue (with substantial supporting data) that the 300 million or so x-rays taken each year add up to a very significant factor in cancer mortality and even atherosclerosis. The latter is a result of mutational damage in the endothelium (coronary blood vessel wall) to create a mini tumor nidus from which an atherosclerotic plaque emerges.

Since x-rays always cause damage, and the damage is related to the number and strength of exposures, the obvious solution is to have fewer x-rays and lower dose x-rays. But don’t get real comfortable with that either. Recent research has shown that repair of low dose radiation damage to genetic material may be ignored or delayed by cellular repair mechanisms. High doses that kill cells, preventing them from unbridled reproduction (cancer), might be better than the low doses. But high doses create low dose scatter and more widespread potential damage.

How’s that for a confusing mess?

The point is that even the experts aren’t sure of the degree of damage. But they all are sure of the damage. We should take the hint.

Unfortunately technicians and radiologists do not always critically control x-ray dosing. They are concerned with diagnostic images that are easy to read, not so much with what the x-rays are doing as they are not so gently perambulating through your tissues. Since adverse effects are not immediate and would be impossible to tie to the techniques used, caution can be pretty much thrown to the wind. People do not always behave in your best interests if there are no consequences to them for their actions. I am not saying this always occurs and that medical personnel are not concerned for your safety, just alerting you to the fact the door is wide open for sloppy work.

It is estimated that dose reduction, beam collimation (control), rare-earth screens and filtration, carbon fiber materials, more extensive lead shielding, decrease in contrast resolution and use of a pulsed system in digital radiography and an array of constraining techniques in fluoroscopy could reduce exposure by several fold.

That’s what they can do. What you can do is not submit to x-rays unless absolutely necessary. Don’t run to the emergency room every time you stub your toe or feel an ache. Don’t do everything physicians say without question. Find dentists who will only take x-rays when it can be proven to you it is absolutely necessary. Offer to sign liability waivers if they want. Tell them you have already had too many x-rays and you know the dangers are cumulative.

The bottom line is that the vast majority of x-rays are unnecessary and physicians know it. Any experienced practitioner can usually tell you what’s wrong (usually nothing that will not cure itself with a little time) before they even see you, and with a little history taking and palpation (touchy-feely) they can get even closer. But they are hesitant (understandably) to give you their experienced wisdom because they are worried about their liability (rightly so), not your chromosomal damage which will not show up for years and would by then be impossible to relate to their x-rays.

So you must take control over your own body. You make the decision about x-rays, and any other medical intervention for that matter, by getting informed.

Weigh the risk versus the benefit. And remember, any medical intervention is a risk.

B Flute Packaging

June 29th, 2008

b flute packaging

Packaging Question?

A food company has a developed a new snack food product, which consists of equal volumes of peanuts, M&M candies, raisins, and pine nuts. The product was packaged in 16 oz. cylindrical plastic jars, similar to peanut butter jars. The product was thoroughly mixed and the jars were filled, capped, and labeled. The filled jars were packed into C-flute corrugated RSC shipping containers. Each shipper held twelve of the filled jars.
In preparation for a “new product rollout”, the company conducted a shipping test. The result was the same in both cases. The product had been sorted out into layers. There was a layer of peanuts, a layer of M&M’s, a layer of raisins, and a layer of pine nuts.

a. What caused the product in test shipments to separate into layers?

b. What change in the primary package can be made to prevent the product from separating in the future? Be specific, don’t just say “change the package” or “add cushioning” or something of the type.)

The cause of separation into layers,is transport vibration. This makes the heavier product sink to the bottom and the lighter one to float to the top. This happens with bulk flour transporters carrying Wholemeal flour. The bran rises to the top leaving white flour at the bottom.
A possible solution would be to use a corrugated tube instead of a straght one, or perhaps a square sectioned tube packed on it’s side.

Used Fluoroscopy Equipment

Lithotripsy in India: Go Get it

Get relief from pain of kidney stones by Lithotripsy in India at fewer prices. Lithotripsy is one of the most common Urosurgery procedures in India. With the best infrastructure and medical facilities, accompanied with luxurious travel, India is a first choice of many international patients. Lithotripsy is available at the most competitive prices in India at Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore. Lithotripsy is a noninvasive (the skin is not pierced) procedure used to treat kidney stones that are too large to pass through the urinary tract. Lithotripsy treats kidney stones by sending focused ultrasonic energy or shock waves directly to the stone first located with fluoroscopy (a type of x-ray “movie”) or ultrasound (high frequency sound waves). The shock waves break a large stone into smaller stones that will pass through the urinary system. Lithotripsy allows persons with certain types of stones in the urinary system to avoid an invasive surgical procedure for stone removal.

Procedures

There are two types of shock wave technology. The original lithotripsy machines sent the shock waves through water in a tub in which the person being treated was placed. This technology remains in use today. More recently, machines have been developed that send shock waves through padded cushions on a table, so the procedure does not involve immersing a person in water.

Other procedures that may be used to treat kidney stones include:

urethroscopy or ureteroscopy - endoscopic procedures in which stones in the urethra or ureter may be removed with a device inserted through a short, flexible, lighted tube, called an endoscope

percutaneous nephrolithotomy (tunnel surgery) - a surgical procedure for stones which cannot be treated with lithotripsy or endoscopic procedures. It involves the removal of a stone through a thin tube tunneled through a small incision in the back into the kidney.

Open surgery - a more invasive surgical procedure using a larger incision to directly access the stone

Stent - a synthetic, tubular device that may be used along with other procedures, a stent may be inserted through a special scope into the urinary tract to allow stones to pass more easily.

 Risks

Abdominal pain is fairly common after ESWL, but it is usually not a cause for worry. However, persistent or severe abdominal pain may imply an unexpected internal injury. Occasionally, stones may not be completely fragmented during the first ESWL treatment and further lithotripsy procedures may be required. Some people are allergic to the dye material used during an IVP, so it cannot be used. For these people, focused sound waves, called ultrasound, can be used to identify where the stones are located.

Urosurgery hospitals in India are well furnished with advanced techniques and latest medical equipments at very affordable cost. Indian hospitals had been very beneficial for international patients who are deciding to take low price oriented lithotripsy in India. The availability of state of art hospitals and the best medical experts makes India most sought after health destination. Lithotripsy in India is best suitable to patients because it takes lesser time for completion and still has less to pay at the urosurgery hospitals in India. Medical tourism in India offer lucrative package for Lithotripsy with tourism in India. They are tied-up to the best surgery hospitals and experienced uro surgeons in India to provide high quality treatment. In addition to health care services, they also provide complete transport, travel, accommodation, visa documentation and tourist assistance to health seeking individual. Is there a such thing as having too much transmission fluid? should the fluid be a pinkish color?

my transmission fluid is brown and is past full..i have a 98 chevy malibu.

If the fluid is brown, it has been burned some and should be changed. This needs to be done at a shop because just removing the pan and draining it leaves much of the fluid inside the torque converter and it needs special equipment to pump it out.

The fluid level should be checked with the trans warmed up and it should be in the range indicated on the dipstick. It can be overfilled or under filled. New fluid is red in color.

24 Fluorescent Light Bulbs

June 28th, 2008

24 fluorescent light bulbs

What does the flourescent bulb in my ball python’s tank do?

I have a 20 gallon low tank. The lighting fixture I purchased includes a socket for the day light (60W white bulb), night heat lamp (60W black light), and a 24″ fluorescent bulb socket. I understand that the two standard lamp sockets provide day and nighttime warmth, but why the fluorescent bulb? I heard it provides UVB radiation that is necessary for my snake’s growth. Is this true?

Ball pythons need NO lighting. Flourescent/UVB lighting is for diurnal lizards/amphibians/plants. Ball pythons are nocturnal, and don’t even have heat sensors on top of their bodies. They absorb heat from below, so use a heat pad.

Colon Cleansing Recipes - Make Your Own Colon Cleansing Recipes

Searching for colon cleanse recipes can be a bit like hunting for hay in a haystack – there’s so many of them around that it can be just a little overwhelming! But while it might be simple enough to find a free colon cleanse recipe using the Internet, there’s no guarantee that the homemade cleanser you end up with will be any good, or even match your particular needs.

To start the colon cleansing process, you must make certain amendments to your diet. Our diet is generally now full of food which has been changed in many ways from what nature intended. Improvements in nutrition often bring adequate results alone, and the colon starts cleansing naturally. To begin colon cleansing, you must take adequate amounts of fiber, 25-30 grams daily, dissolved in water or in food.

Vinegar and lemons both play a huge part in colon cleansing recipes. They allow the colon to reach a state known as alkaline. It helps to dissolve the materials sent into the bowels, and make everything digest smoother and easier. You don’t need much of it, which is a relief since neither of them taste too appealing.

The homemade colon cleansing recipe for the Lemonade Diet also includes mixing 2 oz. of warm spring water with 2 Tablespoons of sea salt and drinking every day to flush toxins from your system. Some professionals advise against using the salt water flush as part of the recipe since it is toxic.

There are many homemade natural colon cleansing recipes, using Bentonite clay, as one of them. This is edible clay having strong power to bind the wasteful materials present in the intestines. It can adhere with the build-up along the walls of the intestines aiding in expulsion. Generally, such edible material is mixed with Psyllium-husks and juices or simply, plain water.

Another great way to go for natural colon cleansing recipe is to be on juice diet. A fruit-juice diet is very efficacious way to cleanse the entire gastrointestinal tract. One can get extract/juice of the fresh fruits and vegetables and should include them into daily-diet. It is therefore, store bought juices might not make the cut. It is well known fact that while making juice from fresh fruits or ingredients, all the vitamins and other essential minerals get into it and the pulp remains as a waste.

The Green Papaye Tropical Cleanse is a colon cleanse made out of the papaya fruit or ‘paw paw’ as it is often known in a few places where it is grown. Papaya, especially when green, contains an enzyme which acts very strongly on your colon called papain. Papain helps to break down and remove any hardened mucus from your colon and flushes out toxins from the colon.
