I. Worry about austism specrum disorder or something else? Sudden behavior change with flu onset, 9 month old?
Our 9 month old very suddenly stopped looking when his name is called, maintaining eye contact for more than a few seconds. This is a very abrupt behavior began during piggy flu illness, first noticed when he started getting better (before he was feeling too awful for us to notice any change). He was on Tamiflu and antibiotics. Up until now he has always been very good with responding, maintaining eye contact and studying people’s faces. Up until now a very social and happy baby. He is also more irritable than normal.
Should we worry about ASD or something else? Up until now he has had very normal development.
Tell your pediatrician. Also pay attention to see if he has any seizure type instances or is off balance. My nephew had a virus attack his brain when he was around that age. They did an MRI and found that part of his brain was attacked by the flu virus. He had therapy for about 12 months and got back to normal. They likened it to having a stroke– he had to regain his speech and motor function. His MRI at 24 months was completely fine. Early intervention is key. So, if your pediatrician doesn’t take it seriously, keep looking for someone who will.
Ok so … I've been constantly getting sick. As I get sick every month. Generally, sore throat, dizziness, lightheadedness, body ache, runny nasal stuffiness, sneezing, coughing … anyway every time I try to take as Sudafed, Theraflu, any medications for cold or sinusitis are not working. Could be allergies? I ask because I really do not think allergies could never get this bad if it is allergies. Could claratin and Benadryl help or do you think would require a perscription?
Clairtin and are good in Benadryl Medications. If that does not work for you want to see a doctor. The doctor may prescribe something like Allegra or Clairnex D. I suffer from very bad allergies and those are the only drugs that have worked for me.

Vitamin C: antioxidant power to help prevent strokes and heart disease
After a recent love affair with vitamin C, and its ability to be publicized until one of the best cold and flu remedies fighting around, this nutrient soon fell out of favor with the media and the general public. If it were not for its glory days in curing scurvy sailors, which is actually an early stage of leaky blood vessels, reputation would have been seriously compromised when it was discovered that was not the magic cure for all colds and flu. At least not for everyone. The human mind loves the idea of a single nutrient for all, or single shot, approach to health. But there is an area destination we all share in common, and that is our blood vessel system health.
Vitamin C has had its share of skepticism as needed between the medical research community in the past 40 years. The controversies surrounding in this nutrient began to emerge in late 1960, when the Nobel laureate Linus Pauling PhD. recommends large quantities to help fight colds, flu, and later several years, cancer. Despite the extreme medical resistance then, today's nutritional science has now confirmed its importance for human health. A supplement vitamin C, if you are concerned that not getting enough, can greatly improve human health.
According to Pauling, the truth is that this vitamin plays a key role in our existence, and all life on this planet. Plants produce vitamin C from simple sugars. Help protect them (and when you eat) of radicals generated by free sunlight. Like humans, and a small number of other species, we are not able to manufacture this nutrient in our own. Because of this inborn genetic error that goes back thousands of years, we are totally dependent on doing this much needed vitamin in the foods we eat.
Because our ancestors lost their ability to make this nutrient, the system of whole blood vessels became the most vulnerable in the human body. A deficiency Vitamin C is a predominant risk factor for developing cardiovascular disease, heat attack and stroke.
The stability and resilience the walls of blood vessels is absolutely dependent on large amounts of this vitamin in the diet. This nutrient encourages our production of collagen, which can be compared with iron reinforcements in a highrise building. High consumption of quantities of this vitamin protects the walls of blood vessels in the heart and brain, so not accumulate fat deposits in artery walls.
food consumption of fresh fruits, raw vegetables, to serve as an example of a lifestyle diet healthy. These foods also help to change the intestinal flora and the addition of fiber and fiber to the diet. When you eat raw or undercooked, it can also decrease the absorption of refined carbohydrates, decreasing the possibility of a rapid blood sugar rise after meals. Frequent high levels of blood glucose helps obesity and diabetes, another risk factor for developing cardiovascular disease and stroke.
As fresh, whole fruit and vegetables are rich in vitamin C, and low in calories, it makes sense to eat more of them instead of refined carbohydrate snacks such as donuts, cakes and pastries. Moreover, it is a way healthier than satisfy the sweet, sugary food cravings all of us. Fruits and vegetables are also good sources of water are counted to hydration levels Daily body.
So what is the bottom line in this report item? How much vitamin C should eat to take advantage of nutrients of the heart and brain blood vessels strengthening of power? The main message is this, we should all strive to eat 5-9 servings of fruits and vegetables day.
Everyone is individualistic in vitamin C needs, what is good for you, keep your system healthy and strong blood vessels, can different for someone else. If you are currently suffering from an existing heart condition or operation of the brain problem, it would be advisable to seek the advice of your doctor or an expert in natural medicine.

ill for two months or more … - 99.4-100.3 fever all day. every day. for 2 months … - Pain in the joints. - Cough. - Migraines. - Recently jaw on the right side. - And in the last 3 weeks I've been getting bruises, cuts and some others not in the top of the feet, legs and arms. I do not know where they come from … and there are lots of them … Dr has ruled out - infection - mono - bronchitis - sinusitis / pharyngitis - Flu - chest strep x-ray was normal and my blood counts .. I'm not lying, dr I went to 7 or 8 times and have said nothing. All they do is try to relieve the symptoms and work a bit for a day or two, then simply return. Nothing has worked and my doctor does not know. Not want to be sick and I am trying to be, it just seems like nothing is working. I have seen three different doctors … And no, it is swine flu
It is not possible to safely rule out infection, although it is unlikely that the infection has given differential diagnosis. At this point I would recommend getting tested for lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. Lupus can cause all the symptoms and arthritis Rheumatoid is also possible. The bruising can be caused by lupus to their platelets get all used up and making it easy for you to bleed. Go to a rheumatologist or your doctor and ask to get tested for lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. Ask them to do a urine test and if it is not. Depending on where you live, Lyme Disease also a possibility.
I know that I WILL be getting the swine flu shot if it is offered to me this fall. I was able to come to a decision about this after reading “Survive Pandemic Flu”, which goes into this subject in some detail: But the decision to get the shot is not as clear cut as you might think.
About 30 years ago a decision was made to undertake a massive swine flu inoculation program in the United States. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but two things happened to throw mass vaccination programs into a bad light. For one thing, the anticipated swine flu pandemic never arose.
The other problem - which proved to be far more serious - was that (it appears) contaminated vaccine triggered a severe neurological problem in several hundred people who got the shot. This side effect was rare - about 1 case in every 100,000 inoculations. But because the pandemic never got started, there was no benefit to having taken the vaccine, so the side effects completely dominated column space in the newspapers of the day. The 1976 swine flu vaccine got a LOT of bad press.
To this day you cannot mention the topic of “swine flu vaccine” on the web without people jumping in with all sorts of conspiracy theories relating to vaccine companies and their intent to blanket the world with unsafe swine flu shots that will cause far more misery than good.
In Survive Pandemic Flu, Stephen Carter does a little risk management and shows us that if we assume the swine flu virus remains mild, and causes no more than 3 deaths in every 10,000 infections, and if the risk of a vaccine side effect today is as high as it was 30 years ago (unlikely), then the likelihood of dying from a swine flu infection is still about 10 times greater than dying from a side effect due to a bad vaccine.
I was surprised that the number is only 10, but this is a worse-case scenario, and if today’s vaccines are actually safer than the contaminated 1976 vaccines, then the number might be as much as 100. Then there is the possibility of a more deadly strain of swine flu arising. If that happens, the number swells again.
If you want the full details, check out Survive Pandemic Flu. It is the only place I have seen a realistic assessment of this kind of risk:
