A Low Power Modern Linux Desktop With Linux Mint 8 Fluxbox Edition
One huge advantage of Linux is it’s flexibility. Different pieces of open source software can be put together in order to make it work on certain types of hardware. One graphical user interface that is good for older hardware is Fluxbox. It uses so little resources that even a machine that is nearly 10 years old can run it well. The problem is that very few distributions actually have a Fluxbox edition. Linux Mint 8 has now come out with their Fluxbox edition meaning it’s one of the most modern and up to date versions of Linux that is using Fluxbox.
Linux Mint is a distribution that is based on Ubuntu. There are a few differences. First, it looks better than Ubuntu. Instead of the brown and orange colors, it uses greens and blacks to create a pretty slick looking desktop. It also comes with proprietary plugins already installed like Flash and Java as well as the codex that you will need to play certain music formats on your computer. While you can install these manually with Ubuntu, Mint has it done when you install the distribution.
Fluxbox can be added onto any Linux distribution. The problem is that you will have to configure it to work well. While this can be done by expert users, newer users have a hard time knowing all the pieces that you will need to make it work properly. Linux Mint 8 Fluxbox has all this already done for you setting it up so that everything works that way you need it to.
While it is made for older hardware, you might not be a huge fan of interfaces like Gnome and KDE. Fluxbox and XFCE are some popular alternatives to these. The advantage of Fluxbox is that it’s so simple that it doesn’t get in the way like other interfaces tend to do. You can use this edition even on a high power machine if that is something you want.

Try This Halloween Spooky Cupcake At Your Party
Celebrating Halloween is never the same without spooky cupcakes. Whether trick-or-treating or bonding with family and friends, these tasty delights are great to serve for the Halloween. Make and decorate your individual cupcake or buy it ready-made at your favorite pastry shop.
Cupcake decoration requires less effort, allowing you to be creative with it, like whipping up your delicious own icing. Admit it; a cupcake isn’t just the same without icing. It makes your cupcake more palatable and adds an extra burst of flavor to any ordinary cupcake. If you’re thinking making your homemade icing will be a tough task, think again.
In fact, you don’t have to be a pro to create your own cupcake icing. With a little imagination and passion for coming up with tasty delights, even a kid can make frosting in a breeze. If you’re interested to know how you are able to do this, read on.
The following items are needed to prepare your own cupcake icing:
4 tbsp butter, softened
5 cups powdered sugar, sifted
2 eggs
6tbsp cream
1 & 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 tsp salt
2 oz, chocolate, unsweetened and melted
Orange food coloring
Prepare cream butter. Next, gradually add sugar, leaving a portion to be used for another mixture. Blend well after every addition. This time, add remaining sugar alternately with the egg whites followed with 2 tbsps of cream. Blend until you reach the right consistency of a spread.
Then add in vanilla extract and salt. Distribute the frosting into two equal parts. Put orange coloring to one part of frosting and spread between cake layers.
If you want to make a pumpkin decoration, make sure to save about 1/4 of orange frosting. Then, for the other part, add in chocolate and 4 tbsps of cream, blending well until you reach the right consistency. When your chocolate frosting is ready, spread it on the top and sides of cake. You could also adorn the top with jack-o-lantern, which is made of orange frosting.
You may also use margarine as a substitute for butter. Also, an electric beater can help give your frosting better consistency and a really nice, soft fluff. If you don’t have an electric beater, you may use an egg beater. Make sure to blend all ingredients well to achieve your desired consistency.
Now you’re ready to give your holiday cupcake the frosting it deserves! Write words or put whatever design you like on your cupcakes! Let your creative juice flow. It’s that simple! Go and try it yourself. You won’t even have to break a sweat at it.

China’s Lighting Industry Future Development
Lighting Association, marking the twentieth anniversary of the establishment, we have launched the “Review and Outlook” as the theme of the series of activities, the main purpose is to review the past two decades China’s Lighting Industry development process at the same time look to the future 5 to 10 years China’s lighting industry development.
1. A brief review of two decades
Twenty years ago, in 1989, ten years after China’s reform and opening up, China’s economic development model comes from a planned economy to a market economy transition. At that time the situation of China’s Lighting Industry: corporations are essential to the main state-owned enterprises and collective enterprises, township enterprises still in the initial stage. Product structure, the electric light ordinary incandescent and T12 fluorescent lamps mainly incandescent and fluorescent ratio of 8:1, HID lamps with high pressure mercury lamp and high-pressure sodium-based, metal halide lamp has not yet into production. A small number of lighting companies, products, varieties of smaller products to meet domestic demand, export less, about l million.
Twenty years later, China has become the world’s largest producer of lighting products in 2008, industry-wide sales of 2,300 billion yuan, with exports amounting to 16.2 billion dollars, the products are exported to the world’s more than 170 countries and regions. The number of firms is about 10000, business gradually expanded the scale, the strength increased. Product variety covers almost all of the existing lighting products, electric light source products in recent years, energy-efficient products significantly increase the ratio of incandescent and fluorescent lamps from 20 years ago, 8: l into today’s l: 1.2. Compact fluorescent lamps, T5, T8 trichromatic fluorescent lamps, metal halide lights, high-efficiency lighting products have been developed rapidly. In the lighting in the past 20 years to develop more rapidly, all kinds of variety of indoor and outdoor lighting, the quality has improved continuously, to meet the growing demand for domestic and foreign markets.

2. Enterprise Development Strategy

Movie Review Of Crazy Sexy Cancer
I just saw the movie Crazy Sexy Cancer by Kris Carr and this is my shooting from the hip review, my knee jerk reaction. Actually, I was reacting as I was watching the film. I was once ignorant myself, just like her, in the start of the movie. My so-called incurable eczema was a better teacher, because I could see it everyday, no need for those special diagnostic equipment Kris Carr had to endure.
What first struck me was I could feel and see her FEAR. FEAR was in the air. Just because some doctor diagnosed her with some kind of cancer, there was so much FEAR, fear that this was incurable, that she was going to die. Good thing she didn’t try chemotherapy, radiation or surgery as her tumors were beyond reach of their medical technology.
It was painful for me to watch all those ignorant people in the movie… FEAR was killing them. There was one woman who was being consumed by pharmaceutical drugs!
I was unhappy Kris consumed so much grains at the start of the movie… that was a recipe for disaster. I was happy Kris stumbled upon Dr. Robert Young of PH Miracle fame, then the Hippocrates Center. What was unlucky for her was that these were closed minded, low-fat, raw vegan approaches. Raw vegan has a time and place, and it should be temporary. What was unlucky for her was that she hadn’t stumbled upon doing the detoxes… she did see the colon cleanses in the alternative healing convention but didn’t do it, nor did she do any liver flushes. What was unlucky for her was she hadn’t stumbled upon Hulda Clark and parasite killing. What was unlucky for her was she hadn’t stumbled on pollution avoidance… she still wore make up.
I don’t know if Kris Carr continued to take birth control pills, that would be a big culprit.
I am happy for her that her efforts had put her tumors on hold, but I would like to inspire her that that isn’t enough. Never accept disease. Fight with knowledge, fight with self experimentation. Kris is a good candidate to view my Cancer Cure Manual website. Make a checklist of what she has missed.
Kris must know there are levels beyond raw vegan diets, just add raw animal foods (wild ocean fish, grass pasture fed or wild land animals). Kris can go ahead and check her blood with the PH Miracle principles. Raw fruits, raw vegetables, plus raw organic animal foods with internal organs and raw animal fats will give her even better blood, better health.
I didn’t see Kris do any fasting. Orange juice fasting would have been great. VCO detoxing would have done her wonders.
Kris must know the pollution avoidance measures needed to have a better living environment. It is still consistent with Robert Young’s theories, I’m just saying there are levels of health beyond Robert Young, beyond the Hippocrates Center.
I can introduce Kris Carr to read up on Dr. Hulda Clark for her parasite insights and superb pollution avoidance measures. Then Kris should read and meet Barefoot Herbalist MH for his take responsibility for yourself, self experiment and be your own guru teachings and the very effective orange juice fast. Then Kris can read and meet Aajonus Vonderplanitz to be taught how raw animal foods and raw animal fats can be used to cure cancer. Put them all together and Kris’ tumors will all disappear.
Kris has the potential to be a cancer cure guru on her own. Maybe she will make Crazy Sexy Cancer 2: Now Cured.

Leptospirosis In Dogs – Symptoms and Treatment
Leptospirosis is a potentially fatal disease that can attack your dog in any stage of his life. The symptoms of the disease are depression, fever, dehydration, jaundice and abdominal pain. The disease damages your dogs liver and kidneys, sometimes resulting in renal failure and death.
Leptospirosis is caused by bacteria in the urine of rodents and other infected animals, and in water where they have been. The bacteria has also been found in saliva, blood and milk of infected animals.The bacteria enters your dogs body through mucous membranes or through scratch or sores on their skin. Leptospirosis bacteria multiply rapidly after entering the body. Signs of the disease can begin as soon as two days after exposure or as long as 26 days after contact with infected urine, but generally occur within one-to-two weeks.
Treatment for Leptospirosis consists of antibiotic treatment with penicillin and tetracycline drugs for treating any kidney damage. Caring for a dog with Leptospirosis requires a lot of nursing care especially intravenous fluids if your dog has become dehydrated.
Carefully watch for flu-like symptoms in your dog and get him to the vet immediately if you suspect Leptospirosis. In addition, Leptospirosis can be spread to humans. People can catch the disease from water that is contaminated by infected wild or domestic animals.
Leptospirosis vaccines may only protect your dogs for six-to-eight months, so veterinarians in high risk areas recommend twice-yearly vaccination. (So far, the states of Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, and New York have experienced Lepto eruptions and cases have surfaced in many other states as well. ) In addition, each and every strain of the bacteria needs a separate vaccination to provide protection. The protection provided by vaccines do not “cross species” to other strains. In addition, dogs that HAVE BEEN vaccinated can develop a slight case of Lepto and continue to spread the disease in their urines even though they show no sign or symptoms on the disease.
Be sure to check with your veterinarian about outbreaks in the are in which you live and if you and your vet feel it is necessary, get your dog vaccinated. Remember, this disease can pass from your dog to you and the rest of your family so be aware. Especially families with small children who like to play in Rover’s water bowl! (Believe me, I know this as my Grandson was infected with Lepto from doing just that very thing!)

Play High Notes Flute

How to play the E note that is one octave higher than the normal E on the flute?
I’m learning the flute on my own and I know the fingerings to play from middle C up to the one octave higher D note… After that, the fingering charts states that the high note for E has the same fingering for the normal E but I dont know how to do that…
Is it single tonguing to play high notes? if so, how do I do tonguing? please help
okay. First off, the tounging is the same, unless your music tells you to slur it.
okay now, you’ve got low E, middle E, and high E.
high Eflat is fignered with all of your fingers down. middle Eflat is all your fingers except for your left pointer finger.
the middle E natural is all your fingers except for your right third finger. High E natural is the first two figners on each hand including the back key.
In order to go higher, you just need to blow the air faster, through a smaller ombisure.

Basically, how do I do it?
I tried to download ‘Fluke’ which apparently helps, but that’s only for Mac (I have Windows 7).. So basically is there any software I can download that will enable me to play these files?
